Conditions of Entry for all Sections

NB For current details please contact The Secretary.

1.  All entries must be the original work o f the artist, uncopied, unaided, and completed after October 2006, which have not previously won a prize in open competition.  Works started or aided at workshops are not eligible.  Known copies will not be judged.

2.  Entries for the (Anglo Coal) Callide Management Pty Ltd Scholarship will be accepted in fine crafts as well as all painting mediums.  See below for special conditions.

3.  Paintings, drawings and artists' prints entered for acquisition must be in the form suitable for hanging.  All craft must have clear instructions for display accompanying them.  Photography entries must be at least 30cm x 40cm and must be suitably framed for hanging.  Framing optional for high school entries.

4.  Entries closed on the 21st of September, 2007.  Fee must accompany entry form.  No late entries will be accepted after closing date due to hanging space.  Please check travel times of buses, etc so entries can arrive before the 12th of October.  An entry fee of $10 ($5 for Sections 4 & 6, & $1 for Section 7) per entry will be charged with a limit of four per person.  A commission of 25% will be levied on all sales.  Acquisitions will be exempt of commission.  Artists to be 18 years & over to be eligible for acquisition prizes.

5.  All entries must be for sale.  Sale money will be sent to entrants within one month of Exhibition closing.  Price listed on the Entry Form is final.  No alterations will be accepted.

6.  Each entry must be clearly marked with the competitor's NAME, ADDRESS, TITLE, SECTION and SELLING PRICE (attach label provided).

7.  Each piece is eligible in one section only.

8.  All entries, including photography, are restricted to a size limit of 1 metre x 1.2 metres (including frame).  In the event of space being limited, the committee reserves the right, in consultation with the judge, to hang a selection of work only.

9.  Entrants shall allow their work to be reproduced in the media without fee for the promotion of the exhibition.

10.  All freight charges to be met by the artist with return freight costs to be included with the entry fees.  Prepaid freight will be refunded in the event of a sale.

11.  The judge's decision shall be final and binding and no correspondence or discussion regarding the decision will be entered in to.  The judge shall reserve the right to withdraw the prize if the required standard is not attained or if the entries are inadequate for the section.

12.  Exhibitors enter work entirely at their own risk.  The organisers, judges, and volunteers will under no circumstances be liable for loss or damage.  However all due care will be taken of entries submitted.

13.  All entries to be delivered after 9am and by no later than 1pm on Friday the 12th of October, to the Biloela Civic Centre foyer.  Special arrangements can be made by contacting 4992 1170 or 4995 1176.  Parcels addressed to Brigalow Arts Festival, Biloela will be collected from McCaffertys and Biloela Railway Station.

14.  All works requiring hanging should have suitable attachments - paintings must be suitably framed and wired for safe hanging with "D" hooks placed 10cm from the top of the frame, and patchworks should have rods provided for hanging.

15.  The Committee and the Judge have the final decision on the suitability to exhibit any works entered and reserves the right to reject any entry without explanation.

16.  Emerging artists are considered to be people who are just entering the field of Arts.  This section is not open to professionals nor semi-professional artists.
