The Launch of the Festival heard motivational speaker David Traylen speak of the differences between men and women in business, comically but with a message.  Mayor Glenn Churchill officially opened the 5th Festival prompting what this Festival can and does for a Community.

This is the 5th Biloela Comedy and Food Festival and the best yet!  In terms of success with community organisations coming forward to assist as volunteers, organising an event and the set up and set down of all of the equipments. Double numbers attended the Bilo Beerfest, and the 'grazing in the paddock' event increased by 30% on last year...
Success in terms of the opportunities for those under 5's, high school drama and hospitality students, elderly at Wahroonga, and the general public attending events, cooking classes, markets in the park, Bilo Beerfest and the "grazing in the paddock" which provided variety and something different.

Success in promoting to a wider region via media attending or promoting the Festival...reporters attended from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Biloela for written media; and ABC radio interview promoted to the wider CQ area.

In terms of promotion of our wonderful local produce,  combining it with native produce, Kim Chillcott and Zigaro catering did it well.  Kangaroo meat seared and baked was a real hit, squab, herbs, beef and pork, combined with native eucalypt  and herbs, and native ice cream such as lemon myrtle, box honey, or wattle seed was a treat to experience during the cooking classes/demonstrations, or the main banquet feeding 460 people....

Entertainments were different but catered for all ages.   The opportunities for the drama students at Biloela High School, the AB FAB girls, Bilo Boys at the Beerfest, and then childrens' entertainments at the markets in the park, and the finale of the Faulty Towers crew at the banquet ensured a variety of experiences.
Next year  will be even bigger and brighter, thanks to the support and commitment of this Community, wider communities and individuals...
